I work with the body, voice, attention and presence as my primary materials. I love improvisation and the moments where you feel that the people on stage and the audience are there together and a scene of magic is touchable, Everyone is important. It is both performance and transformation. Rather than creating characters, I create situations—rituals, walks, ceremonies and gatherings where meaning emerges through relation, place and collective experience. The beginning is always there, but the middle and the end changes all the time.

My acting practice is rooted in embodied presence, voice and relational listening rather than character-driven representation. Ceremony functions as a training ground where attention, timing and collective responsibility are continuously practiced. She of the North develops directly from my previous artistic work with ritual, performance and participation and seeks to articulate a clear ceremonial methodology for acting.

Im currently studying at Stockholm University of The Arts, an International MA in the Art of Acting with an artistic research called She of The North.

My artistic practice moves between performance, ritual, embodied research and participatory formats.

Some Earlier Work

Artist, performer, director and priestess of nature

Rebecca Tiger is a Swedish interdisciplinary artist, performer, director, and priestess of nature whose practice explores the intersections of Nordic animism, ritual, embodied knowledge, and artistic resistance. Rooted in the landscapes, myths, and ancestral memories of the North, her work seeks to awaken our relationship with the more-than-human world and the knowledge that lives in our bodies, our stories, and the land itself.

Moving between performance, ceremony, voice, movement, storytelling, and nature-based practices, Rebecca creates spaces for transformation, connection, and collective imagination. Her work draws on Nordic animism, ceremonial seiðr, herbal wisdom, ecopsychology, and seasonal traditions. Through song, breath, the body, staff, and drum, she explores ways of listening to the land, encountering the unseen, and bringing ancient mythologies into dialogue with contemporary life.

For Rebecca, ritual is not a retreat from the world but a way of engaging more deeply with it. Her practice invites us to reconsider our place within the living world, to question dominant narratives of separation and control, and to rediscover forms of knowledge that have been marginalised, forgotten, or silenced.

Rebecca has worked as a freelance performer, actress, and director throughout her career, creating independent productions and collaborating with small-scale companies across theatre, circus, and variety. Her work has been presented in collaboration with Stockholm-based venues including Turteatern, Orionteatern, and Moment. She has also directed productions for companies such as Acting for Climate and Karavan, and appeared in screen productions for Swedish public broadcaster SVT, Netflix and Mexico Media.

Since 2007, Rebecca has been one of the foremothers of Ruby Rose, bringing together artistic practice, activism, and a commitment to equality and creative freedom. Her work continues to move between the personal and the political, the human and the more-than-human, the ancestral and the emerging. www.rubyrose.se

Through art, ritual, and poetic resistance, Rebecca creates encounters that invite us to listen differently, imagine otherwise, and reconnect with the wild, complex, and sacred worlds we are part of.
