Den Stora Väven

Den Stora Väven - By Rebecca Tiger & Karin Victorin.

What first began as a question – what can imagination mean in a time of climate crises, war and artificial intelligence? – has now grown into a participatory artwork that has travelled across Sweden.

The tapestry is a metaphor for a time machine; weaving connects us across time and space. Over the course of two days, the audience will create a collective tapestry, with all participants invited to bring something to weave into it. Weavers will be on site to guide and accompany visitors.

Throughout the work with the Weave, storytellers have invited us into conversations around themes such as AI, the power of storytelling, and the art of imagining other ways of living. It is still possible to listen to conversations with Pella Thiel about weaving new worlds, to experince GINNUNGAGAP – an interactive storytelling experience with Mikael Öberg and Henrik Hallgren. To take part in A Walk in Deep Time with ecopsychologist Elena Björkäng.
In the big weave you also have the opportunity to encounter the figure known as the Future Oracle, who explores what it means to be human, together with her counter part The Greend Godess that invites you to sit by the fire and take part in ancient craft rituals, and learn about Urd, the goddess of the past who spins the threads of life in the Old Norse world.

To let our own AI Samanda guide you to the world of the Weave - it is not as the world you where brought up in. Do you dare to step into the Weave?
