Hon ÄR SÅ! — She IS Like That!

A musical art film in three parts

Hon ÄR SÅ! is a three-part musical art film based on the music and lyrics of Sofia Thelin. Through Alice’s life, we encounter the painful distance between the life she lived and the life she might have chosen.

Created by musician Sofia Thelin, director Rebecca Tiger and filmmaker Andreas Paulsson, the film explores silence, shame, guilt and power in the aftermath of the #MeToo movement, confronting both its revolutionary potential and the backlash that followed.

The film premiered in Malmö, Sweden, on 18 August 2023, accompanied by an exhibition featuring 25 artworks by young artists from local art and circus education programmes, alongside works by established artists. Young people’s testimonies, visual art, circus and readings of real quotations from Matilda Gustavsson’s book The Club bring urgency and complexity to the stories.

Since its premiere, the work has been presented at cultural venues, libraries, churches and festivals across southern Sweden, including Feministisk Festival in 2025.

Through music, film and collective reflection, Hon ÄR SÅ! seeks to challenge cultures of silence and create space for conversations about power, complicity and liberation. In Rebecca Tiger’s direction, freedom becomes inseparable from our relationship with the living, animistic world.
